I want to put a EBB on my bike for chain tensioning. I’ve got a hub gear so I need some way of tensioning the chain.
Bike has a standard 68 mm threaded bottom bracket. There are a couple of compatible eccentric bottom brackets that could work.
This is one:

The other one is described here:
Has anyone got either of these? How are they? Any problems?

This is new to me, a pretty slick solution to make single speed conversion.
Most of those solutions are expensive. Been easier for me just to find another frame that works for ss.
I haven’t used it, but I think Velo Orange also just released an eccentric BB: [https://velo-orange.com/products/eccentric-bottom-bracket-bsa?_pos=5&_sid=eebb8f6f1&_ss=r](https://velo-orange.com/products/eccentric-bottom-bracket-bsa?_pos=5&_sid=eebb8f6f1&_ss=r)
A chain tensioner is cheaper and easier to deal with. 100% would go with this if I wanted a belt drive, however.
I haven’t used one of these but I used to have a frame with an EBB. No matter how much grease I put in that EBB, it always developed a creak. It was on a single speed mountain bike so it got dirty often. I ended up getting rid of the bike because I got tired of servicing the BB every 6 months.
