Well worth a watch this with Lewis and Dan. Particularly the discussion about the 115 'thing' . Even if you skip to that part (close to the end of the stream). As with pretty much all city fans we just want all this done and dusted, myself include. I'm a City fan, full disclosure and all that. But Lewis mentions a few things (especially the ramifications and complexities of it going either way). It's not a bias chat by either of them, just very interesting. Basically, as I have said from day one about all this, no one wins from this whole sorry state of affairs. Guilty or Not. I'm certainly past caring now as long as it comes to a conclusion and we can ALL move on. But as I say, Lewis touched upon something that hadn't even crossed my mind, lets just say it could actually turn the saga into a major political incident with owners/football on a global level. Pep's future will be a big factor in our pulling power over AAA players like Musiala – If they think Pep will be gone in 12 months they won't sign.
This summer – I think expectations are too high – in the pep era we have not been a Galactico signing club, so I don't know why people are expecting many big big name signings this summer. We will lose Bernardo, and KDB (to Saudi) – if the board don't buy the players Pep wants , that will tip his decision to leave City at the end of the 24/25 season.
LB & Dan. What fans forget is the ref sees and judges issues what he sees from ground level and where he is positioned at that time and has a split second to make his decision and if it’s not deemed clear& obvious then the decision stays as it should because he the Referee is in charge NOT var.
Also the more cameras we have the more angles the public have to judge what they see but that’s not what the Referee sees as he can’t be everywhere and have the perfect view, then we have slow motion which again makes things worse again the Ref doesn’t have this unless its clear & obvious, we all have our views on fouls, Pens, tackles etc but we are not qualified Referees and let’s face it we try to be fair but we all have a bias towards our team even though at times we are wrong but can’t see it because of our love and passion for the club we love.
So for me as hard as it is to take we have to accept decisions will go against what we think and what we see from multiple angles but just remember the Ref doesn’t see what we see through no fault of his own at times.
The league is not boring far from it and don’t blame City for being so good blame ourselves for not being as good as them, the only thing I don’t like about our league is that not every club can progress the way they want too, no I don’t mean just Newcastle look at Forest what have they actually done wrong in wanting to spend money and make them a better team who in a few years could challenge for Europe or even better? Is that really wrong? No it’s not wrong it’s the Red teams we know who they are who are bringing in rules to protect their clubs, and on a Newcastle point of View look at the rules that have either been changed or altered to stop the Saudis and that’s not being deluded just have a good hard look and you’ll see what I mean.
City are not the enemy just think about it.
