  1. This is my kind of thing. I’m trying to make people aware that it’s better off for the public that I ride my bicycle vs driving a car. A bicycle is much more space-savvy than a car. But if a bicycle is mandated to ride like a car by law then so be it, I’ll pretend my bicycle is a car. But don’t complain when I actually hold up traffic on my pretend-car, then complain that I ride a bicycle like a bicycle instead of a car, and then turn a blind eye when I actually hold up traffic with a real car–that’s just nonsensical and hypocritical.

  2. Laserdollarz on

If this was in the US, someone would probably park their lifted Kings Ranch F420 on top on the bikes before you could take a picture to celebrate.

  3. This has happened with motorcycles too.

We had two or three bikes parked in a spot and the cops ticketed us all because only one vehicle should be in a parking spot he said.

So we came back a week later, about 40 of us, and took one bike per parking spot for as long as possible all day.

When the cop showed up we just explain that we were following the law.

That’s when they started rethinking about their policy on motorcycles and parking.

  4. The point that’s proven here is that most of us would be willing to pay for parking. And if we have to pay for a full space, then nobody should be complaining if we decide to keep just one bike there, or maybe set up a folding table and have a picnic (I’m American, I’m used to our “outdoor dining” being literally in parking lots or right against active traffic)

And being that 5-8 bikes can easily fit in the same area that can accommodate one car, any municipal garage or lot could charge, say, a quarter of the price to park a bike and make even more profit for every space that they decide to convert into bike parking. Start with one and convert more spaces depending on demand (if you build [the infrastructure], they will come)
