We set out on a training ride for our upcoming Edinburgh to Grantham trip. Wendy was happy with 50 miles but I kept the fact it would involve 3,000 feet of climbing quiet. The day started badly as both my Wahoo, and Wendy’s Garmin both played up. We managed to keep to the plan, thanks mainly to Wendy’s skill at map reading, but we didn’t expect the challenge that was waiting for us at the end!

I have my phone on a quadlock mount, and if my garmin plays up I switch to the Komoot app on my phone I use to plan all my rides.
"Park your bike in there Wendy" 🤣🤣🤣
A lot of the road surface looked very sketchy, at best. Well done staying upright!
Great video as usual love you and Wendy so informative and funny. Can I ask what bike does Wendy ride and what gearing is she updating to please? Look forward to the next adventure! 😅
Scary paths, great bike handling yet wonderful views, Roy says Wahoo to a NEW Wahoo. Thank you BOTH !
Your videos are always a bit different. Two questions, are you still enjoying using the new chain ring and is Wendy getting one?
Trivial question, after missing the big baps did you find somewhere to eat.
Tech, you love it or hate it. The love is when it's working and you don't have to keep stopping to see the next turn.
The hate is when it doesn't and you haven't brought a paper map. Having only a mediocre sense of direction I try to remember the map.🤓
Here it's mostly dried up but the exceptionally strong winds continue to mean a lot of effort trying to make headway.
Thanks for sharing the ride.
What a beautiful church, well worth the climb. If is fantastic having all those old railway beds converted to paths. Good luck with Wahoo! You deserve it and well done to them. You’ll enjoy the look ahead elevation profile in there are well.
Great video Roy …..loved the church.👍
Great effort getting to that amazing church – This is why I still use OS maps and OSMand (Open Street Map's app) – whilst it means stopping abit more to make sure you're going the right way and using your own intuition using orienteering landmarks, you get to see alot more and change your route if there is something interesting to see (compared to the whole Sadistic SatNav 'make a U turn now' demands lol)
Enjoyed your video, you must have picked the only decent day in the past month to get out as no sign of rain or showers or hail !! some of trails were a bit sketchy and luckily no punctures !!
What you doing in my Manor , Keep to your own patch!!!! , coming over from Grantham , Shame you did,nt nip to Staunton Harold for a Cuppa and Bacon Roll .😁😁😁.
Wife and I sat down with afternoon tea to enjoy another relaxing, first rate video plus good suggestions on 'parking bikes'😂
Another great adventure from you two. It came at a perfect time for me. April has been an awful month as far as me riding my trike. I've only been out TWICE. 😢 We get a lot of pollen during April; it gets on and into everything — my nose, throat, lungs. Yuck! So I was spending more time inside.
Also I started a new hobby (taking up the guitar) which has been keeping me inside. But thanks to this video, I'm motivated to get out for a ride this afternoon. 😁
The path you were riding looked so inviting. Your entire ride looked very popular — several other bikers, folks out walking, some with their dogs and others with their children.
The church looked spectacular. I really love stained glass windows. They always give me a sense of peace.
I trust you managed to find a lunch spot. 😊 All that climbing to get to the church, you really deserved it.
As you were telling us good bye, I noticed that on the wall behind Wendy someone had graffitied "Ride with Roy (and me)" Was that you two? 😅 Sounds like Wahoo really came thru for you, sending you a new unit. Congratulations. 👏 Looking forward to your next adventure.
So how are you filming that intro 🤔
Great video despite the small problems thank you.
What was the grade of that hill to the church
Park your bike in their Wendy! 😅
can 't trust Skynet! anyway, a bonus Wahoo out of it, so….. all's well that wossnames….
