I wanted to leave the “how it started vs how it’s going” thread alone but there were a bunch of questions about the giant i built. I thought I’d put up some pictures and a parts list to refer to for those interested
This is my ’98 giant terrago, 6061 T6 aluminum frame. Disk converted by yours truly by tig welding tabs to the frame & fork.
I built this bike as a distraction during a rather shitty time I’ve been having lately, which may explain the copious amounts of retail therapy that flowed into this. All decked out like these pictures it weighs ~12.5kg
I ride this on my local trails through the forest in a hilly area, it does everything from quick trips to the bakery to longer adventures.
I (~100kg) have gone full send to full stop many times with this disk converted 90’s cromoly fork and I am still alive. (Your mileage may vary)

Awesome, love seeing people put in the effort of fab work for modernizations, but does your mom know you stole her basket?
