  1. 3/20 UPDATE
Cheatham County Sheriffs department have spent the last two days searching the Dam for signs of Riley

    3/22 UPDATE
Remains have been found in the Cumberland River near 61st avenue north at 7:30am. The remains have not been identified as of yet.

CONFIRMED. Remains found in the Cumberland River are Riley Strain. My thoughts go to his family and friends. Please be careful when you are out drinking, never let someone leave alone and always care for those around you. RIP Riley <3

  2. I’m not seeing any comments updating that his body was recovered from a river I believe. His mother is not gonna be ok. I’m so worried about her I hope she is closely watched any kind of medical emergency can be triggered by this…

  3. Why would a bouncer refuse to “allow” anyone to leave the premises with someone who was kicked out? And in what world would a bouncer have any authority to detain someone in a bar and not allow them to leave? That doesn’t make sense it’s also absolute bullshit that needs to be investigated

  4. That fall looks like it could’ve been BAD. I wonder if wound up with a sub dermal hematoma and that is deadly untreated. It is unconscionable to have a person leave alone in that condition.

  5. I am from New York, if they ask you to leave a bar when I was growing up on Long Island they had to give you a taxi voucher. You did not have to be thrown out. You could just ask for a ride home. They called the cab for you and you got a free ride back to wherever you were coming from. Do they still do that? I’m old now. They obviously don’t do it where Riley was. Maybe we should bring that back. 🙏

  6. So many deaths are caused by this type of scenario. There needs to be a Riley strain law passed where bars don’t let highly intoxicated people leave alone or have a max limit of what they serve to customers . They should not have overserved that man and then kick him out before he had the chance to sober up. Things need to change!!

  7. Is Luke’s bar the only bar they were at that night? I highly doubt it. Most people bar hop in Nashville. It was just the last bar they went to. If he was served one drink and two waters, he was obviously over served someplace else. They kicked him out due to his behavior, which they have every right to do. His friends should’ve paid the tab and left with him. They could’ve gotten him home and went out again if they wanted to continue partying. Everybody is an adult in a bar and are responsible for themselves. The bar and it’s staff are not your babysitters or your parents. His friends that arrived with him should’ve left with him, period. After paying the tab, of course. People always want to blame somebody else other than the person responsible. A sad situation all around.

  8. I’ve got girls in high school and soon they’ll be in the real world and honestly this stuff scares me so badly. I know they’ll try things and I know they’ll want to experience the college life, but I hope I do a good enough job of stressing the importance of looking out for yourself and your friends that something like this never happens.
    It’s a mother’s worse nightmare.

  9. 15:25 If – and it's a big if – the bar is telling the truth about what he was served, one drink and two waters, he was likely roofied. In that case, there should be footage of his behavior before arriving at the bar which would give an indication of whether he was drunk before. Also, what about footage from inside the bar? There's a ton of missing info here.

  10. Danelle, having political ads in your videos is not only disheartening, but flat out beyond disrespectful to the victims and families you cover. your personal opinions have nothing to do with the innocent people you cover on your channel. you will lose viewers due to that by KNOWINGLY and PURPOSEFULLY losing coverage/awareness for theses cases. personally, i will continue to support victims and their families elsewhere. however my input is important as a (now former) viewer of 4+ years. i hope you’re able to open your eyes to this and not lose another viewer. God bless.

  11. This is very tragic and sad but it's nobody's responsibility to take care of drunk strangers…… I certainly wouldn't go up to a random drunk guy. It's annoying that people always need to blame someone.. it pisses me off. This is not a crime.

  12. absolutely gut wrenching story , they were absolutely not his friends never in my life would i leave anyone in that state. i hope he’s at peace now ❤️

  13. Years ago my friends and I were driving by Texas State and saw a girl reallllly drunk and stumbling. We pulled over and convinced her to get in the car and we took her home. I think about what could’ve happened if we never pulled over and I’m so glad we did.

  14. Why would a bar try to make his friends not go with him, that's absurd. They could go if they want, why wouldn't they just go anyways?
Also do we know he wasn't drinking before he got to that bar and that's why he was so intoxicated and got kicked out after only 1 supposed drink?

  15. People need to do better. If you see something do something. this poor kid just needed a little help. Had that been a pretty girl, bet people would have been very concerned then. That bar should be charged 1,000%

  16. I read he didn’t do anything threatening, he actually attempted to help a server, but I don’t know the facts. If his behavior was so bad, the footage should be released.

  17. I’ve been to Nashville several times and every time I see people passed out in the gutter, all with law enforcement nearby and aware. They just let people get drunk in the streets and don’t do anything about it. Once I saw a man almost get hit by cars twice. His friends kept pulling him out of the road.

  18. If a bar se=ves you drunk the bar >s Responsible..
    ,never leave a friend alone..?
    Maybe his drink was spiked¿
Still his friends should of been there to help him… How would the other parents would feel if Riley left them???

  19. No bar.. should serve anyone that is drunk ,rather he arrived drunk or got drunk at the bar.. I f my son's friend left him, drunk ect I would press charges !
    You don't leave a friend..

  20. I found out about his body having been recovered while riding the bus home. All this time I was rooting for Riley, hoping he would find his way home somehow after crashing on a couch, having lost his memory or literally anything else. I never knew him but I hoped so badly that he would return home. My heart goes out to friends and family of this incredible young man. I wish them all the strenght in the world. Although it may not bring him back, I hope they know how much the entire true crime community was rooting for him, how much we all prayed and hoped, how we all have started to adore smart, funny, unique Riley. My heart truly hurts for them and for Riley. He had so much more life ahead of him. I wish I could give his mom a big hug. I cannot imagine how his parents and other loved ones are feeling right now. Rest in peace, Riley.

And to anyone reading this: Please, please, please take care of your friends. Especially when they are devastatingly drunk. Please make sure you and your friends get home safely. Remember that it might not seem like something like this could happen to you, but these things can happen to anyone and everyone. Think of Riley next time you see someone drunk wandering around and call someone. Do not put yourself in danger but make a call. You never know what someone is going through and you never know that one call could save a life.

  21. This is so heartbreaking. It could have been avoided if the bartender didnt act like he did. His friends just leaving for the night with him. Someone stopped to see if he was okay and got him help. So many times it could have had a different outcome. I bet that officer is beating himself up right now. And his friends.

My prayers are with his family and find the answers they need. Please keep your friends close and never let them leave without you. Have someone be the DD or at least be the one who sees how drunk everyone is getting and stop drinking yourself. Get as sober as you can to help everyone get home safely.

  22. Blame the bar. Why would we expect arults to take accountability for themselves? We need the bar to be charged with murder and the Beverage Comission to tighten down and make sure adults are not treated as such. Perhaps they can make people drink slower so they dont have consequences for their decisions. They can put some kind of regulator on the top of eaxh drink served that works on a timer and is shaped like a nipple.

  23. I am so confused. Why did his friends let him leave by himself? Did i hear right that apparently the bar wouldnt let them leave with him? That makes zero sense to me.

  24. I really hope the bartenders lose their serving license….when you’re serving anyone alcohol you have a duty of care to them….atleast in Canada where I live you do….if you over serve someone you have a duty of care to get that person home safe…you don’t just kick them out…this is so sad
