Hey everyone,

I’m quite new to cycling, and lacking kind of a plan on how to get to a certain level of fitness to really enjoy my rides.

As long as it’s kinda flat I can manage 50-70km rides, but climbing really messes with my endurance.

Already asked google, but unfortunately I travel a lot jobwise and cannot take my bike with me so 3 times 1+ hours of cycling is not possible on a regular basis. Any tips on how to consistently get better at climbing?
Cause I really enjoy a good view like in the picture from my ride this morning

Cheers everyone

  1. Unfortunately, there is no magic button. You have to put in the time and the work, and consistency is key.

You say you travel for work, so you can’t bring your bike with you. Why not? Could you please expand on the nature of your travel? Flights vs POV? Different hotel/city every night? Just gone all day and home each night?

Do you have access to hotel gyms while you’re gone? Is there a national chain gym that’s available in most of the cities you travel to? Spin cycling is a great way to build up strength and endurance.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way. You just have to identify the barriers and be willing to put in the effort to overcome them instead of using them as excuses to not achieve.

If there is literally no way to consistently work out during the week, then you just have to make your weekend rides longer, and put in the effort to push yourself on the hills. It takes time, but you’ll get there.
