I would be contacting the local Chief Inspector and asking him to clarify the law concerning theft, I would complain and request, the thief should be charged with theft.
They stole the bike and the police didn’t even want to deal with the crime. Disgraceful behaviour and a terrible and shameful attitude towards you. Basically you can steal something but as long as you get it back it’s ok? If I nick a car see police arriving so I drive it back to the owner it’s not a crime. I’m just not sure that this is okay. Theft is theft. These police officers are not capable to do their job and are just plain stupid and a embarrassment for the police force
Be ashame if a hooded masked person dressed in black rode passed and did alot of damage to cars parked in reserved places or even set them on fire. Probably could be an illegal migrant responsible.

Theft is theft even though they gave it back, the police should at the very least be issuing a caution to the thief. That copper is absolutely wrong. Had a friend who handed a phone in, because he moved it from where it was left the cops cautioned him for it, outrageous but true.
