Just upgraded my levers and calipers on my cargo bike but didn’t take into account how much space the “little feet” on the levers takes up. My shifter will not fit comfortably, only option I see is to cut these supports off…bad idea? please help!

That is a structural reinforcement, don’t cut it off. Those are two finger levers, just move them more inboard and move your shifter clamp to the other side of the brace. Easy peasy.
Those little feet act as a brace of sort for the lever so the entire lever doesn’t bend/flex when you pull it. Cutting those off would put a lot of stress on the lever clamp so it a no-go I’m afraid
You shouldn’t. It’s there to support the end of the master cylinder.
