I would go even further and say to change lanes when possible and safe

I use the middle of the line. And queue up with the cars like normal. It’s a little sketchy to be on the side like that

Lookin good. However, before moving into the center lane, it might be a good idea to do as others stated — take the lane first.
From the far right, I would signal (if needed), take the lane, signal again, then move into the center lane. In traffic, failing to take the lane well in advance first could leave room for an inconsiderate or distracted driver to cut you off if you’re coming over from the far right just before turning.

Bugger that. If you are worried, get on to the sidewalk, turn into a pedestrian, and walk your bike across the crosswalk. Take your time. Stay safe.
