I recently had to slightly disassemble my Campagnolo Athena 11 shifter as I accidentally put a Shimano cable in the shifter body. In order to remove this piece of plastic I had to remove one screw with a metal circular plate on it. As soon as I got it off, the coil spring jumped out so I couldn’t take a picture of how it should be assembled. After getting the cable out, I reassembled the shifter. Shifting up (tightening the cable) goes perfectly fine, but when shifting down, it has a tendency to shift all the way to the smalles cog with just one press. I couldn’t find any material online describing how to reassemble so I hope anyone here knows. I added a picture of how the coil spring is installed. Thanks!

I fixed it, documenting for the future. Coil spring needs to go into the tiny hole on the side of the shifter. No tension should be added, shifting up will tighten the spring 🙂
