While I’ve had this bike since last February, summer last year was choked out my wildfire smoke, and so I really only started commuting primarily by bike in October. Since then I’ve lost over ten pounds (plus recomped a substantial amount of muscle) and gotten in good enough shape to participate in local alleycat races. Extremely rewarding process, and I’m excited to keep it going through what will hopefully be a gentler summer than last year! I don’t think fixed-gear commuting is for everyone but it’s really clicked for me. I do want to get a front rack and porteur bag soon but for now, I’m the weirdo who actually enjoys commuting with a backpack on, too

  1. Nice bike! I started SS commuting a few weeks ago. I like coasting too much to flip my wheel. Can’t even imagine the chaos of an alleycat. I’ve also sullied the lines of my bike with commuting kit so it’s ugly *and* shit for climbing! Commuting year round is the best though. Especially in spring when all the softies roll off the couch and hit the trails. I feel like superman.

You won’t miss the sweat patch once you ditch the backpack for proper bike luggage.

Is it a fixie or single speed/freewheel?
