Yesterday I had a race, and with 5km to go my rear tire went completely out, slow leak for 1 minute to completely flat. Didn’t want to DNF so I literally walked for an hour to the line. Literally the day before I took the bike to install a new valve and tape. Took it to another mechanic and said “it could be salvaged, but it’s more work than it’s worth and it may fail again”. Tire isn’t even that old, not even 1 year old, but according to my mechanic it’s kinda “dried up”.

Looks more like a waffle than toast.
If a tire causes me to blow a race and hike for an hour, it’s going straight in the bin.
