I have a question. Because of all the bike thefts, I have been looking into bike insurance for my BMX. How do you get coverage if you traded your bike for the current bike? They ask for a receipt, and I don’t have one. I have a receipt for the aftermarket parts, but not the frame with stock parts on it. I’m told to get it appraised because they can’t find it online. No kidding, it’s a 2020 Model C. Why does it have to be a headache?

It’ll be funny when you write down the “Stolen Bikes” components. They won’t understand.

Proof you own it along with any kind of listing for the frame that would show the price of a new one. And then say you paid cash for it. I had a mtb stolen recently and had to dig through a couple years of bank statements and Venmo transactions and then some things I just marked as cash. They honored it. It was USAA renters insurance. No special rider needed to be added but certain insurances will have you add it.

Also the deductible on those plans could be anywhere from 250-800…. So depends on how much it’s worth to really be worth it.
