    The Tizer World Freestyle Championships was a four-part BMX Beat! TV special hosted by Andy Ruffell with Ron Stebbene. The series featured some of the best BMX freestyle riders in the world at that time including the amazing Matt Hoffman and UK riders Craig Campbell, Dave Young, and Jason Hassell. The shows were the highest rated of all the BMX Beat shows and were broadcast on The UK’s ITV national network. Filmed at the Carlisle leisure center in the north of England in late 1987 and broadcast in 1988.

    1. I remember he was in that short film called "The Bike"… The only copy I found was here on youtube and its pretty bad quality. Would be nice to see a good quality version uploaded.

I remember being at the Tizer worlds in Manchester when they brought out and installed a stupidly long height pole (looked to have been hastily extended to 14ft iirc) and people in the crowd started to laugh. Carlo ended getting scarily close to that on those 8ft high, 12ft wide just to vert portable quarters.

      Some mad height from a few riders around then on 8ft transition quarter pipes. I used to ride with Chris Hamer when he went on a mad height progression period and was hitting around 11-12ft out at the castle leisure centre in Bury (heighest I saw until Carlo). He unfortunately had a bad crash hanging up and hitting his ribs badly on the bars which is what sadly seemed to hold him back after that.
