  1. I’ve not seen one like that but it doesn’t surprise me. So long as your bars have the appropriate clamping diameter and the clamping bolts are torqued correctly I wouldn’t be worried. Might even use it as an on bike flower holder ; )

  2. Yep, particularly if that bike is a Trek or it’s a recent Bontrager stem – it’s for an accessory mount for lights/camera/bike computer

    If those faceplate bolts are torqued down in that pic you should back them out and balance them so you’re not overclamping one side.

  4. Aside from spacing. You want to tighten the bolts evenly. Or the picture is before tightening (still has to be even)?
