Was on the groom’s party for a friend that lives in a smaller town in North Carolina. Naturally, they booked a venue in a small town… which was 6 hours away by bike, haha. I don’t own a car and didn’t want to force my wife to have to slog all the way up there and wait for hours until the ceremony started, so I used my will to find a way.

Took an Amtrak train trip up to Salisbury, NC from Charlotte, NC. From there, I primarily biked alongside 601 North, passing through Cooleemee and Mocksville. Saw a ton of great sights — endless rolling plains, farmland vistas, and small towns are much more exciting to roll through when you’re on a bike. All said, I got there 40 minutes early and ready to roll. Wishing my friend a *very* happy marriage.
