Kells, Co Meath Sunday 14th April 2024. Irelands Biggest Ride Out.
€10 Euro registration fee which this year was for local charities.
We set off from Bangor to meet friends in Belfast before heading to Kells. 5 bikes cruised down the road in nice, bright and dry weather. Stopped for McDonald’s breakfast en route. Arrived in Kells early, we were headed into the car park which filled up quickly with all makes and shapes of bikes. Met our good friend Debbie Harkin after soaking in the atmosphere we got on our bike for the mass engine start at 1pm.
The noise was amazing, engines reving, exhausts ripping and fumes chocking 🤣. The bikes set off for a ride out round Kells, we peeled off to head home. Stopped to refuel and met a guy with a 1957 Chevy Truck, after a chat and photo we set off into the dark clouds North. The ride home was wet, cold and miserable, but what else would you be doing? Well worth it….Till next year’s Kells 🏍😁.
The official number of bikes this year was 1045.
A tribute at the end, for our dear friend Victor Fernando who passed away recently ..
