I have a crank puller for square taper but this is new to me, what do I need to get the crank off?
I will then have to change the BB to a square taper for the replacement crankset…

That is a square tapered spindle with a bolt on the end.
These were common during the transition from cottered cranks to the more modern square tapered spindles.

Some crank pullers have a detachable part that will shorten the part that push on the spindle. Mine holds with a magnet, old one I had had a small allen bolt.
