I am looking to buy this off someone. The seller states he was told it was a Biachi Pista Chrome when he bought it, but the bike came to him without the decals. It appears to match a Pista to my untrained eye, but I was wondering if anyone with more experience could comment. I have not been able to see the bike in person yet. Also, he asking for $400, is that a fair price?

Definitely not a pista. The chrome series came with a rear plate for the dropout and a whole emblem on the seat tube. The tubes also look oversized for a pista, and the fork as well. For $400 it might be ok but it’ll really depend on if it fits you properly. There’s a lot to it that isn’t to my taste such as the bars and wheels but those could be changed. If you have a chance to see it and ride it then do that first, and maybe see if you can negotiate price. If you’re set on getting a real pista then bypass this and save your money for one. If you’re just looking for a bike that you can ride without thinking about then this seems ok.

I was gonna say the frame looks like it could be the chrome kilo tt but after looking closer it looks the seatpost collar looks like it’s part of the frame. Not the case on the kilo.
