I recently bought a frame and was building it from the ground up. New bottom bracket installed fine. I went to install the crank and it wasn’t pushing through. YouTube university made it look easy so I thought a rubber mallet would help. Now I can’t get it further in or out

Tap it out with a wooden dowel. Looks like you are hitting the rubber gasket.
