Roughly 8 month old Canyon Stoic started creaking from the bottom bracket. Took it apart and found this with some metal shards from it being cut into. BB threads on the bike look fine but is this worth reusing? Any clues as to what happened? Worth contacting Canyon?

That’s just a sticker. Are the bearings rough?
Just clean the bb shell out and apply grease to the threads
Is there a cable or something that goes through the bottom bracket? It might have rubbed the sticker away?
You could attempt to file down the threads with a proper thread repair file. You need a file that is 24 TPI. But, it would definitely be easier to replace the BB.
You should closely examine the inside of the bottom bracket shell, on the frame. I am concerned that the threading there is ruined.

I definitely didn’t do my due diligence there is a screw poking through the BB holding my shifter cable on. The easy solution seems to be put a couple washers on the screw to back it out some more but doesn’t this seem like a pretty poor design? Any guesses as to why it only recently started rubbing against the BB shell?
Maybe the screw that attaches the cable guide underneath the bottom bracket shell is too long…?
Feel free to contact canyon, but don’t expect anything helpful. The superficial damage you’ve caused to the BB is no relation to the creak. I would first clean the bike, apply grease to the BB threads, reinstall to correct torque, clean the splines on the BB then apply fresh grease before tightening. Worth checking, but I believe the torque required for installing an octalink crank is about 60n.
It probably happened when you unscrewed the BB.
When it was assembled the BB would have gone in before the cable guide.
If the bolt for the cable guide is a bit long it would have been touching the BB.
When you removed the BB with the cable guide in place the bolt scored round it
