I have a 4-seasons sunroom that is the best spot to park my bike. Except it (obviously) gets a ton of sunlight mostly through the windows. The windows clearly don’t stop all the UV light and other items have faded before.

My concern is whether the UV can slowly cause the epoxy resin in carbon fiber to degrade? Or given it is a bicycle, perhaps the UV coating is robust enough to not worry about.

Thoughts or guesses?

Note I have light bicycle carbon rims too.

  1. Tires will definitely suffer along with any other exposed rubber parts like grip tape. Other than that I’m not sure.

  2. You should get a motorbike cover or something similar. Make sure it’s ventilated if you go that route though to prevent rust.
