I had old bike with that kind of geometry. It rode like a train . Steady, not nervous and very predictable . Unfortunately it also had ancient braking setup that was was just a nightmare to adjust and scary when it was even a bit wet.

OMG My second mountain bike back in the 80s! I was working for a WSI distributor, (Diamondback, Centurion) I loved it, it weighted a ton, I put a banana seat in back and motorcycle footpegs, and toted my friends around on it.
Loved that bike.. It got stolen when someone broke my Krytonite U-lock in 1986. They are such great touring bikes.
