  1. I was running an Apidura Expedition 1L top tube and 4.5L frame bag previously.

-The Apidura setup had more overall storage capacity, both in advertised capacity and actual mounted capacity.

-The Apidura frame bag was kind of mashed in there, and if any real clothing was stuffed into it, I got knee rub. That being said, it filled in the frame more, instead of being spaced off like the Tailfin.

-The Apidura frame bag constantly interfered with my front water bottle, especially if stuffed with gear.

The Tailfin setup is the 1.5L top tube bag and 3L frame bag.

-The Tailfin setup is 1L less overall capacity.

-The frame bag is essentially a perfect fit. Even fully stuffed, I don’t get knee rub thanks to the stiffening structures.

-The Tailfin frame bag doesn’t really interfere with my front water bottle, even when stuffed full.

-I really like the internal hand pump velcro, holds my Silco Gravelero perfectly.

-I can get knee rub on the top tube bag if I’m climbing out of the saddle and I’m leaning too far forward.

-I like the rubbber cinch straps far more than the velcro straps on the Apidura bag. Not having front and rear straps is a plus in my book.

Overall, the Tailfin bags appear to be better constructed, with better thought out features, but reduced total capacity and higher weight. If you’re looking for max storage on a Grizl, I’d stick with Apidura. Their bags don’t have any structure, so you can stuff a larger bag in there. I actually originally ordered the Tailfin 3.8L bag and unfortunately it was about 10% too big in every dimension, though it might have fit if the Tailfin bag’s rigid structure didn’t interfere in the back with that chainstay section that sneaks into the triangle. These Grizl’s really do have abnormally small triangles.

Is that an aftermarket stem at the front?
I’m having awful trouble finding a suitable stem for my Grizl.
