Hello all! I’m new to touring/bikepacking, and hoping to get some recommendations for overnight destinations from NYC to dip my toes in.
I recently bought [this Fuji Touring Disc](https://imgur.com/a/v8RzUqQ); clearly I need more gear and baggage, but I’m working on getting myself adjusted to longer distances and steeper inclines. Could also use recommendations for a decent tent.

There’s a bike shop in Brooklyn, 718 Cyclery, that posts routes and maps on their website: [https://718c.com](https://718c.com) . Look under the “Resources” and the “Tours and Micro-Tours” tabs. The Micro-Tours are all one or two day trips out of NYC (I think some involve a short Metro-North or NJ Transit ride).
Apparently, they also have a discord that’s pretty helpful.
