I would only consider wearing knee pads if I were to go ride a bike park, dirt jumps and maybe the pumptrack ***(something that gets you high up in the air)***.
The trails I ride are mostly AM. I don’t feel the need to wear knee pads because I can ride pretty much anything (steep descent and techy sections).
At one point, if I feel like there’s something more challenging/dangerous coming up, I just slow down.
So, I’m wondering if I should still get a pair. My budget would be around 80$ CAD or $60 USD.
I found [this pair on Fortnine](https://fortnine.ca/en/leatt-airflex-pro-knee-guards?utm_id=70393578393&utm_campaign=1768300489&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&utm_content=342549430054&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlN6wBhCcARIsAKZvD5gpMiu1GnZ7WPY4n0rxYZb-9ekLdwT8zMDT25khyFbeD36tei2lX1QaAtK9EALw_wcB#76=21&493=10). They look pretty good! How can I determine the right size for me?

I wear it for my gnarlier trails. I only skip it when I’m on my xc trail.
Yep. I wear my Pearl Izumis most of my rides. If I fall, which is most of my rides, I always hurt my knees. I know it sounds weird but with those knee pads on I come away unscathed from 90% of the falls I take.
I wear Fox Enduro without the D30 inserts all the time. They disappear once on. I’m old can crash anytime, anywhere and these at least provide some padding.
I wear them on ever ride.

I use the 7idp Sam Hill Lites. I can pedal in them all day long. I feel naked without them.
Park days and double-black techs for me. I do many rides without them.
after you turn 50…always…
I wear them any time I’m descending on my mountain bike. Got knee pads with zippers, so they stay in the backpack while I’m doing all the climbing during summer. I might wear them if the day is cold.
Pretty much wear Raceface knee pads 100% of the time I get on my MTB. If I’m wearing pants, sometimes I’ll wear my G-form Knee/shin pads. Too many times I’ve gashed my shins due to a pedal slip on a jump’s landing or drop.
I wear them 99% of the time.
When I’m running flats instead of clipless pedals. Shinners suck
I wear them all the time. I ride in the desert where everything is hard, sharp or both. I rarely fall, but sone of my close calls have been on conparatively easy trails, so I wear them all the time to make sure that they are there when I need them. I generally wear gform knee pads, which I barely notice.
Since I moved to my current trail system, I even wear elbow pads every ride.
