They say it’s in excellent condition. Is $175 a reasonable price? I am also 6’ – 6’1” and I’m not sure that a 19” bike would fit me, although most charts say it should be fine.

That’s absolute top dollar. Too high for me. 700 series Treks are transportation. If you need transport then you do you. That’s a bike that will get you there and $175 for reliable transportation is never a bad deal. But if you’re looking for something to bling up a little there are better bases to build on for $175. This is my opinion and I’m not particularly a Trek fan. But if that bike is in good tune and the tires are decent and you rode the bike and like it, you should consider it.
Depending on your personal dimensions a 19” frame might work for you. But most people your height would prefer a 21” frame with this particular bike. Fit can be shifted with seat back vs non set back seat posts, shorter/longer quills with different angles, bars with more or less rise and more or less sweep but it really is nice to buy a bike that you swing a leg over and feel right at home. It’s way cheaper too.
I fixed up a 730 a few years ago. Really heavy steel bike. Worth maybe $75.
Im a couple hairs short of 6’ with slightly shorter than average legs and I ride a 21” 750. Having ridden both 21” and 19” I think the 21” is a better fit for me.
I also think $175 is a little steep unless it truly is in excellent ready to ride condition, hopefully with newish decent tires. For $175 you should be able to find a good 750 which is a significant upgrade from the 730 imo.
