  1. great vid mate, inspiring the way you take them climbs in your stride,, im getting ready for a weeks tour in evia greece, im a newbie to cycling in general so pretty nervous ! good to see what can be done

  2. Great Great Video !
    I so glad I found it !
I have never been to Europe
I am flying to Zurich sept 8 and going to be in Switzerland until oct 30
main purpose of my trip is to visit and meet my Girlfriends family in a small
town near Bern , Langenthal .
I am a road cyclist and i am bringing my bike with me , I have no idea what
i am going to be face with , but i ridden extensively and hope to find great rides .
i also plan to do a trip similar to your , would love to !!!
however i am not touring and will have to find small towns where i can stay for a day or two and ride around then move on to the next place ,
do you think is possible to use some kind of transportation
where I could send a small bag with the minimal for overnights
the idea would be to ride like you but put my bag in a bus service or something , and then pick it upon arrival , then head to a hotel ?
i have done this in Costa Rica and other places and it was efficient ?
anyhow , i would love to repeat your route , i just finishe watching your video and is very inspiring , i am glad you also restore your friends bike , and i am sure he was there with you ,you can be proud of doing that and thanks for sharing …
i dont have a camera but will get one that i can use .
How did you plan the route ?
    thanks .
    Andreas Carmona .

  3. Hi Andreas Carmona. Thanks for your comments. I planned my trip with this website… http://www.veloland.ch/en/cycling-in-switzerland.html  It is fantastic. It has every route in Switzerland in great detail. I am sure you can send a bag on, there will be special companies doing this, but I don't know them.  Just search on the net.  The Alps are full of cyclists, you should have a great time. Good luck!

  4. Sir, you are one good man. I can see from this video. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful scenery and heartbreaking video. I enjoyed. If you pass through the Serbia one day I would be glad to meet and host you here. Thanks.

  5. Well done its on my bucket list to do as I love Switzerland too, sorry about your brother and you did him proud btw did the lorry driver get done and jailed this country is so bad at culpabilty they would rather jail for not paying your TV licence or Community charge rather than murder which it should be killing someone with a vehicle and big shout out to Kendall cycles you are absolutely right we should all support these small businesses

  6. The best part of the trip was the tribute to your brother and pride you took on making that bike come to life, good job on all your edit and work you did to take the different shots and music I really enjoyed it thumbs up!

  7. Andrew I'm overwhelmed by the strength and love you have. That is a beautiful tribute to our dear beloved brother, Tony and I'm quite sure that he was with you, inspiring your strength and vision, faith and love for life, people, family, friends… you are an amazing human being and I love you more than I can ever express. Thank you, I'm so proud of you, of our family, of our hearts. It hurt so much to see his bike, broken and shattered… somehow that piecing it together again… well… that pieced together a bit of me… BIG LOVE and HUG, your sister, Angela xxx

  8. amazin ride awesome video but please tell me somethink…..i am from greece and i see many guys coming from your country and from other countrys and touring here with bikes,i just wondering many years now,to do this big touring you need many days or months and of course money, how you can do that?you don't have job?
for me all of you guys you are my heros!!!!!!!!i am working every day here and i go 2 or 3 rides every week with my bike with distance 120klm per ride!but i can't and i don't have the money or the days off to do that big touring rides!it is my dream and i hope some day to do it!!thank you my friend and keep going!!!!!

  9. To all4bikes.  I was only away on this trip for 2 weeks so I could afford it, staying in camp sites and preparing own food made it cheaper. For longer trips you simply have to save money and spend as little as possible.  Buy your own food from supermarkets, camp wild for free, learn to stretch it out. Maybe go cycling in cheaper countries like in Asia, Switzerland is very expensive!  Keep riding, you will do it one day.

  10. Excellent and inspiring video , I was hit off my bike by an HGV and know I'm lucky to be alive and seeing videos like this always make me think of my next challenge.  It goes without saying that your brother would be proud (and jealous).  Well done !!

  11. Great adventure my friend, your brother is happy seeing what you have achieved!!
    Do you still ride?
I'd like to be your friend in Facebook add me at cjaboim@facebook.com
    Cheers mate

  12. Love your video so much, because i life in Switzerland and I did this passes too….and I love it, sad you didn't make the St Gotthard, is so beautiful!
Now you cann't leave your bike unlock, at leat not in big town or cities, you get the risk get stolen, very sad! Enjoy and safe rides! And thanks for sharing your brother and bike story, I lost my brother too 25 years ago and stil miss him every single day.

  13. Lovely Video and a lovely tribute to your brother. This video has helped inspire me to make a similar trip, so thank you. If you dont mind, I have 2 questions, if you have the time to answer them that would be great, firstly when you stayed at the campsites did you have to make reservations or could you just turn up and secondly what date did you do the 2 week trip. Thank you

  14. I have been knocked down 3 times now one of which was a hit and run. I have watched your film before but this second time I had tears in my eyes not just for the bit when you tell the story of your Tony and his bike, but for the whole film. Life is so precious and cycling on UK roads is SO SO DANGEROUS. There are so many aggressive and dangerous drivers with little fear of being caught and even less deterrent of a severe punishment. Too many cyclists have been killed. The courts are a joke. Since I was first knocked down in 1998 approximately 2,000 cyclists have been killed around 120 per year. Then there are those who are seriously injured with life changing injuries. This then dawns on you how dangerous it is to ride a bicycle on the roads in the UK. So seeing your film of your tour in Switzerland tells us it is not all bad, there are some safe and beautiful places to ride a bicycle where you will come home or reach your destination. I no longer ride on UK roads as I want to live life to a ripe old age. I don't want to be wiped out by some selfish nutter behind the wheel who couldn't give a crap about me or my family and would think nothing of driving over me because I was in their way and then lying through their teeth and perverting the course of justice in an attempt to get off the charge as what has happened to your Tony – RIP. Thanks for sharing.

Ps What was the name of the truck driver? I think I read details of the case at the time and it was shocking what he claimed happened. The driver is a piece of scum.

  15. I'm in Wakefield, I cycle around pretty much everywhere. Years ago I cycled around the Netherlands, I love it in Europe they cater for cyclists within their infrastructure. Unfortunately I cant say the same for England, it is the car that is promoted above all else and cycling is definately fround upon by most people. Where is that bike shop you went to? I half expected you to wind up in Halfords lol

  16. I'm sure you did your brother proud 🙂 Having just lost a friend to a tragic cycle accident, I feel your pain. What a beautiful way to honor someone's memory by heading out on the bike to finish his journey. Not long bought a touring bike, and now plotting my first tour in honor of my mate as well as all the other people who needlessly lose their lives doing what they love.

  17. What a great way to honor your brother. I've had two serious accidents , and was seriously injured. (No car involved). But biking is one of my passions and could never give it up. After two years to fully recover I continued biking. At 69 yrs young I commute to work daily and logged over 2000 miles touring. So take care of Tony's bike …..Bike to live….live to ride

    Sandra

  18. Nice people, but we don't want to see your faces, and commentary so much, just the mountains, nature, and scenery. That's what voice over recordings are for. You need a shock proof camera mount. Keep the camera as still as possible, to much zooming, to much panning back and forth ruins the production. Stay wide zoom, and let the viewer choose where in the frame to look, unless you need to zoom very smoothly slowly for special reasons, a flower, or to accent a facial expression, etc. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.

  19. Hello there ! How many miles /KM per day you Guyz biked and where did you stay at nights ?? How's the price ? And how long took you to finish the rout and what month was it ? And what's the route called ?

  20. Heartbreaking to hear the terrible way in which your beloved brother Tony was treated by that monster of a lorry driver, I hope he received a prison sentence for the criminal and irresponsible way he deliberately abandoned your injured Tony. I am glad you did this trip in his memory, thanks for showing us this film,
    best wishes
    Mike.

  21. Thanks very much for sharing your journey. Really appreciated learning about your brother. Really appreciated your discussion regarding Switzerland's bicycle friendly policy. I hope the journey brought you closer to your brother. Much respect.

  22. At the Video 9:48 its looking so slowly but i know in reality its so speedfull 40 km/h and more than 50 km/h. I was last year in Andermatt too. Nice place isn't?

  23. Thank you so much for sharing your heartfelt story. Your brother must have had as big a heart and special character as you display. Thank you again.
