  1. I dont know how i feel about this fashion , this collection. Somethings are nice, of course i would make them more elegant way. But on one thing i agree that i love that we can wear dressy dresses and more looking evening outfits, and making them more casual. It makes sense. Otherwise those clothes would be just a waste. I lived through 2000 already, i dont think i want or need that anymore. To me is no no, if i dont know if its a boy or a girl wear the clothes. I probably would be ok, if i did not know what is behind it…, and i am on feminine mode. Probably always was. Sometimes little edgy, or avant-garde, but still always feminine. Have a blessed day🙏❤️

  2. As per usual your breakdowns of Celine are truly sublime 😍😍😍 first and foremost… yes you will be needing that gorgeous slip dress 🙏🏼♥️
I think that makes so so much sense for LVMH to want Celine to become a staple house with a more singular (yet still evolving) staple wardrobe for the Parisian woman/man and I think they knew from Hedi Slimane’s past that he was the person for the job. Even though you see his style poke through in something like the Conti bag, you also see how well he’s able to bring vintage heritage Celine styles back and make them very “of today” while still feeling timeless. Creating those incredible “basics but not basic” individual pieces is so genius and really creates a beautiful opportunity for one to shop only at Celine. I think creative directors aren’t given enough credit for how much pressure is put on them by the umbrella house that owns the brand they’re designing for, so even though it took him a few years to get the credit he deserves, I think he’s been doing an incredible and effortless job 😍

  3. Love hearing your opinions, as always. I’m a huge fan of Hedi & own many of his YSL & Celine pieces. While I love his ability to take a basic idea & flawlessly elevate it, I found this collection a bit uninspired. What I felt from this was “let’s go with Look #3 from SS19, pair it with Look #25 from AW21 & add a new bag.” (Obv not specifically those collections, I’m just randomly picking.) But I don’t see ANY innovation. Maybe, however, as you pointed out, that’s the aim: Not reinventing any new wheels whatsoever. Hedi is a true artist & this just fell short for me, as someone who is a Xennial who’s been there & done all of it 🤷🏻‍♀️

  4. Those blazers are nice but toooo expensive for the most of gen Z/millenials, that are obviously aiming, I am older millenial, and I am over this too short items, they are as or more then YSL! That is well, bad pricing since it was shown that gen z and millenials are doing worse then their parents in terms of housing and therefore all the postpandemic growth of Kering, LVMH and Richmond is falling, and I don't think it will stop. I do get the idea, it is messy, and only some details and parts are parisian, and by any means it is or will be equivalent to RL in sense of french chic of being timeless. French parts are romantic longer dress (that can be midi also), blazers, longer jackets (thosr can be of any material, cotton, embroided cotton, leather, jeans, …whatever), then some lace, some romantic touch, and the ankle boots (but there are also loafers ballet flats, or the babies that could go as well too). I get the marketing idea behing and Harry Potter sentimental touch, but it is a no. And it is a mess. I see Hedi as really good observer and photographer, but designer? Those romantic dresses were saying Chloe/Old Celine, so Phoebe, belt bucket Versace, the bag Gucci, colored jacket also, sunglases both Dior and Gucci… like th3y want to make a new Gucci, but I don't think it is working. Celine lost artistic sense (that Loewe has, or that Gucci had under Michele) with Phoebe. This is messy, I don't see concise design, art, idea, all I can see is marketing, strategy, too expensive, already seen, not worth IMO.

  5. Excellent, thank you Mary. I'm glad I didn't see any of those ludicrously oversize, huge-shoulder coats and jackets, hopefully that trend is dying out, as a petite woman I found it ridiculous. I don't like leather, but I love the academia and Jane Birkin/Kate Moss vibe, a modern classic

  6. Good review of Celine's collection! Thank you. I found Hedi's collection a bit nostalgic for 2000s as well but did not find anything refreshing. Why would anyone buy a piece from this collection when as one can buy similar or identical piece but pre-loved and much much cheaper?!

  7. I found the entire show to be breathtaking… The library, the music, the models walking, the rock chic references holding hands with the ultimate preppy girl chic academic-bound grade-A+ without-even-trying-girl. If I were to attach which girl this particular collection was designed around it would not be Jane Birkin, Kate Moss or Charlotte Gainsborough, but YES, it would have to be Emma Chamberlain.

  8. I almost never watch anything about fashion these days, but your videos are of so high quality and even beyond just fashion! So many cultural references in your videos! That’s why I binged your videos. I feel like your channel is so underrated 😊
