Wanted a canyon gravel bike since the pandemic, but the bike I wanted was either never in stock or not in my size so eventually I just got a specialized allez to rip around on the local roads and riding trails. A week or so a buddy offered to buy the allez, and I saw the aluminum grizl trail was on sale in my size for 1799, so I grabbed the it. 2 days later it went on sale for 200 less at 1599, and all it took was a quick call to canyon support to get the difference credited back to my card.

I was really interested in the idea of a front shock for single track type riding along with the shitty roads I encounter. Gotta say, I am quite happy with this bike. Even though canyon said they were going to ship it with an FSA crankset, it arrived with a GRX (many apologies for not showing it off). Setup was simple and the bike came safely with no issues. I was really worried after reading some of the experiences on this sub but I am pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoy this bike. The bigger tires and suspension give me quite a bit of confidence descending or just on wonky trails. Probably will eventually upgrade the saddle eventually, but so far loving everything else.

I’ve had this bike for about a year. I got it when it was 2500$. I can’t believe they came down so low on that sale. Great bike. You’re better off with the grx cranks, I don’t know if you know that.
