I did something dumb. I was excited to try a new saddle and just clamped it thinking I’d adjust it later… Well I literally clamped it on the curved part. I didn’t torque it all the way, must’ve been 10Nm or so at most.
Are these markings cosmetic, or should I be scared to ride this?
It’s a Selle Italia S5 Super Flow, ordered from Amazon, I believe the rails should be steel.
It would blow to lose $70 before I even get a chance to ride it.

Definitely wouldn’t trust it.
Also have your tires touched the ground? You might want to budget to replace them as well.

I’ve attached saddles at the bend. It’s not ideal but it’s also not gonna explode.
Yep, putty bad. My trash bin is half way empty 😉
You can use some nail polish to touch up anywhere you might have worn off the paint to protect metal underneath if you really want to.
Other than that, you’re good. Send it.
