  1. damn those old shimano derailleurs are so beautiful. If you have a friction shifter then basically any short cage derailleur will work, and if it’s indexed then count how mamy cogs the rear cassette has and order a derailleur with that amount of speeds (gears) in it’s name. Of you want the same as you have right now then look for a used one off of ebay or facebook, just search “Vintage Dura Ace rear derailleur (how many cogs the cassette has)” Alternatively you could just bend it back lol

  2. Derailleur looks pretty straight, but the bike derailleur hanger is almost certainly bent.

    Step One: straighten or replace the derailleur hanger.

    That derailleur is a Shimano Dura-Ace 7000 series. It is decades old.

    If you decide to trash it I would like to have it for my 1974 Gazelle I’m restoring 🙂

  4. Don’t trash it, someone may be interested in using it for parts or to try fixing it.
