The top layer is really only decorative, its the foam that will protect. Is it high quality? No, but it should be fine unless your kid is going to a skate park or hitting ramps.

I would take the plastic top off, use drywall tape + E600 or shoe glue to coat the exterior of the helmet, then reattach the plastic top.

  2. You buy health and safety equipment for your small children on Ali Express? 😂

In China if you’re paying small price you’re not entitled to expect quality. That’s the deal.

Why are you trying to save cash on the safety of your flesh and blood?

Why are you buying safety equipment for your child on AliExpress?

Anyhoo, since you are clueless you probably don’t know that the outer layer of polycarbonate doesn’t add any impact protection – it might prevent the helmet from ‘sticking’ if the helmet were to be sliding on the ground, preventing a neck injury, but otherwise it’s decorative.

This has got to be a joke. Id assume you would take your child’s safety more serious then ordering a $3 helmet on ali express.

    Do better 😔

  6. The outer layer is just for color/decoration. I have removed that layer on several cycling helmets. If the foam appears to be well built, you’re fine.

It sucks that the decorative part isn’t better attached.
