The bike is the correct size. Will I regret having rim brakes?

Personally? Disc brakes are great, but if you don’t live somewhere with long long descents, and you don’t see yourself upgrading to carbon wheels, rim brakes are probably fine. They are cheaper and lighter and much simpler to maintain. The only real downside for most people is that you don’t have room for really wide tires.
Regarding price, I don’t think this is crazy. If you can talk the seller down, great.

This won’t make a good gravel bike in my opinion the is on the super road side of road bikes . You won’t have the clearance. And the geometry isn’t ideal. Id look into something else. For a grand you’ll have some decent options brand new.

This doesn’t have the possibility to upgrade to larger tires. At most you’ll get a 28mm in there, maybe just a 25, these older carbon frames often have really limited clearance.
It’s an okay deal for a road-only bike.

If you want a road bike for racing or club rides this is great. I’d try to talk them down to 600, but the components are quality and that is a very light frame. You wouldn’t be a sucker to take it for asking price. It’s not gonna be capable of much more than rail trail as far as gravel, and even then I wouldn’t want to ride this bike on light pea gravel for more than like 3 miles at a time. It’s still a great and competitive bike as far as road goes
