Two teenagers have been handed life sentences for the murder of an 18-year-old man in Ipswich at the beginning of last year.

Alfie Hammett and Joshua Howell, both aged 19-years-old, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court today, Monday 11 March, where they were sentenced to life imprisonment with minimum custodial terms of 24 years and 20 years respectively.

  1. It's ridiculous that in a town centre, there isn't a pair of cops on the beat, and it's the same all over country. Cops on the beat prevent crime, they're a visible presence and know the street, but all cops do now is react to crime, when it's already too late. What cop wouldn't do a stop and search of those two twats if they saw them? But to do that, they need to be there.

  2. How lovely and transparent this video is. Let's see the same if the ethnicity of the perpetrator is NOT white. let's see that video on that case. let's see if the British justice system allows for the public depiction of the criminals if they're not white

  3. Hiding their faces tell me all i need to know.
Hard to believe they weren't released with only a severe warning. . . ☆

  4. Do you wonder why these kind of young men are on the increase? 13 years of conservative politics have stripped what little youth clubs and social centres were available to offer positive role models to kids so that they are less likely to go down the road these two fools went down. I'm not telling you who to vote for, I just want you to think about that and make your own mind up. Since thatcher in 1979 youth clubs and social centres and education in general has been increasingly underfunded. During Blair's brief tenure they actually increased funding for education and youth centres and the like – they of course also did loads of completely crap things to harm society as well so I'm not holding Blair the war criminal up as someone I admire. As soon as labour was kicked back out Cameron, Johnson, all those tossers have further reduced funding for education and social services. People in this comment section are very quick to yell 'lock em up forever!' and I agree, these murdering sods need locking up. BUT it is better to focus on what as a society we can do to minimise people becoming like this in the first place than ignoring that and focusing on punishment. Yes there must be just and severe punishment for criminals but what I'm saying is that prisons cost a LOT of money and just create misery and problems for society in the long run. We will always need prisons but if we invested more in preventing crime by ensuring we have facilities to steer youths in the right direction we would need far less prisons and would have a safer better society – the transition would initially cost us more money but, and here's where the idiots will yell at me – ENSURE THE RICH PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE OF TAXES

  5. Terrible video. Incomplete. Who was murdered and why? What was the motive? What is the time it occurred in this video? Where is it? This is low information.

  6. They are innosent as long as the file of a victim has not been published, modern cops don't do their work in half of Europe, if somebody steals they won't even bother, same goes for a rape murder and etc, illegal imigrants are free to do any of these without paying with their lives in Nato controlled contries.

  7. Obviously the rampant criminality is a problem, but what about the education system? If you are going to commit a violent crime, at least think it through. Work backwards:

    X is dead?
Can the police work out that I have a motive to kill X?
Is the place where CCTV X was killed covered by CCTV?
Will I be clearly identified by my clothing in the act of killing X on CCTV?
Do I have a Ring doorbell camera covering all my comings and goings from my house?
What is the mandatory minimum sentence for murder?

Of course, these kids need morals, but they also need critical thinking.

  8. I havent watched the entire video and I am not 100% updated on this case. However, I think that those people who are against video-surveillance in public streets etc. should take a good look at this case. Unless you have done something that is wrong and unless you are a criminal, it is TOTALLY irrelevant if you are being filmed on public streets. Do I care if the Government knows that I shopped at Store X or Y or went down Z-street at 2 o´clock in the afternoon – if that can help solve murder / violence cases? Hell no!

  9. If videos of violent attacks are censored, how can we believe anything actually happened? All the censorship is bullshit. We just have to take the word of the poster or the media that an attack occurred?
