Got a good size gash on the gp5000 28mm tubeless today. Must have happened when we detoured through some gravel. Thoughts on this? Trash and replace w a new tire just for peace of mind?
I ride w some decently fast groups and would value safety over any liability this gash might cause.

That looks normal, no problem you still can use it for few years. My tubeless 28mm have much deeper gash and cuts, still run ok a year later thanks to quality sealant coagulate daily glass shard pokes as long it doesn’t hit the internal nylon liner and small enough for sealant to coagulate.
If you are really concerned, glue a patch in under it. You can get plenty more life out of the tire.
Looks pretty typical. You’re going to get gashes like that at some point even if you ride what you think are pristine routes. It’s not a matter of if but when.
