In this episode I’m heading west and crossing the border into North Wales. Pedalling alongside the Llangollen Canal, straight away I encounter the impressive Chirk Aqueduct. I then leave the valley behind and climb 900ft into the Clwydian mountains before a challenging descent into the Vale of Llangollen. The second half of the ride is a lot more easy-going as I rejoin the canal, but it still has it’s challenges – including braving the dizzying heights of Thomas Telford’s famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, and my biggest challenge yet – trying to pronounce it!
