  1. Rode in this Smartwool shirt for 3 days and while it was awesome to have just one shirt that dried quickly in camp and didn’t smell, it was sucky on the bike – wet, stretchy, clingy, heavy. Recommendations for alternatives? Maybe a blend? Any brands or specific items to recommend? (Bonus: polos!)

  2. I love merino through the year, but synthetic shirts are more comfortable during peak summer.

  3. Just get a tank top. Crop top could work too. Crop top tank top? Okay, tube top? Just cut the sleeves off something

  4. Man, I swear by my merino. In the last year that has been the biggest improvement to my ultralight kit. I only pack two shirts now, one T, one long sleeve hoodie. I have an unusually sensitive sense of smell and I find I cannot work out in these shirts long enough to make them stink. I’ll wash them because of the salt I sweat into them, but they have never, ever picked up BO.

The only thing I don’t like about them for travel is they are so fussy to launder. But anyone who says they stink needs to take a second sniff. It’s the wearer you’re smelling, not the merino.
