    Cycling Sicily in Winter: Part Two // Ragusa to Palermo // World Bicycle Touring Episode 17



    After leaving Scicli, we headed further inland to the UNESCO cities Modica and Ragusa before descending back to the coast and making our way to Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples. From Agrigento we made our way towards Trapani then crossed over the island, ending with a magnificent descent into Palermo where we caught the ferry to Cagliari, Sardinia.

    Sicily was initially a challenging place to bicycle tour but ended on a fantastic high note, with the second half of the trip featuring some incredible riding.

      I’m convinced bike- chasing dogs around the world are from central casting.
      Lovely scenes. Lovely couple.
      Playing your videos is like unwrapping Christmas gifts…. sheer anticipation and joy.
      Totally admire seeing you two grinding out those miles and maintaining healthy outlook.
      Despite the headwinds, you two are completely “unflappable” 👍

      Ahh, great travels. The grand Greek temples and the medieval centro storica were the major attractions of Sicily for us, so we rarely camped, and only wild-camped for one night at Gibellina Vecchia in the high hills north of Santa Margherita di Belice. The low price of good 3-star hotels and decent apartments made it so much more value to be staying right in the centro, able to explore the sights and enjoy the food of the towns.

      I'm sorry guys but you missed the most beautiful part of the coast of Sicily which is the north one. you have gone to the part that I appreciate least because it is full of greenhouses. moreover, traveling from east to west you would have had the coast visible on the right without having to stop and go into the opposite lane. when you decide to travel back to Trapani give me a whistle. so I can accommodate you
