Just in case someone is going wtf: Changed to a different cassette, had to adjust the height screw first time in… 3 or 4 years? Didn’t move, flooded with WD40 multiple times, tried a cold spray, thought it was finally moving buuut yeah only the head, not the thread. Was just a screwdriver handle, but either I’m having a strong day or it was kind of weak already…

  2. You should have taken the tension off the threads before screwing it, e.g. pull the derailleur back a bit so that screw isn’t touching the hanger.

You also should have cleaned any grit off the other side to prevent it getting pulled into the hanger and binding up, there’s no corrosion issues here as it’s not possible with these surfaces.

Using a cold spray was kinda dumb and wouldn’t work here, what you did is make the aluminium clamp harder on the crap covering the stainless screw.

Next time, screw that in a bit and you can either brush or rinse off the grit before you unscrew it.

To fix this, either drill it out or unscrew from the other side.

Or you can put two nuts and screw them very tightly together and try to unscrew them with a wrench

I would try to take to nuts and srew them tightly this is the easiest way if there is enaugh space for those nuts
