Came across this bike on FB marketplace. At first glance I thought I hit the jackpot with a classic Stumpjumper. Come to find out it’s a copy cat of a Stumpjumper. Anyone familiar with Biscayne bikes or this Blazer model? Are the components original and would it be worth it to snag it for $75?

A photo of the drive side would be helpful, but $75 sounds good, if it’s the right size.
Looks a bit trash to me. The crank seems decentish.

I’m sure $25 would do the trick. How many people are scrolling through FB marketplace for a vintage bike…. Only us😂 he’ll be sitting on $75 until $75 is the new $25z
Could be a lower end bike with hi-ten tubes.. but it’s still 80s radness. The old components are all worth $75 (pedals and bars). If you’re looking for a cool old bike because you like cool old bikes, this one is worth $75 if they don’t frequently pop up in your area
It’s gotta be from the mid to late 80’s. Looks to be in very good condition with the exception of the grips and likely the tires. Welds are clean, dropouts appear to be forged rather than stamped. I’m a fan of the Bullmoose bars.
It’s true that it is likely a high-tensile steel frame but that doesn’t make it any less strong, just a bit heavier than a cro-moly frame.
Merida builds a lot of bikes for some big companies. Like Specialized, for example.
These old mountain bikes make excellent townie bikes. Toss on the widest set of smooth tires you can find, Rene Herse Rat Trap Pass is my recommendation, a worn in Brooks saddle, Oury grips and enjoy it! It’s a good bike and worth $75, IMO, as long as the frame is the correct size for you.

The hbars and pedals are worth more than 75. You can do a lot with the frame as a canvas
It’s a low end bike(not a QR rear wheel) but it has cool lines. Wait. New direction…. If you’re asking, I assume this is a first or second build for you. For a starter build, I’d go with a higher quality frame that you’re going to be proud of and want to hold on to.
