righty ho. So it was coming to me! My first “proper” accident.
Usual day out, riding with my buddies Russ and his son Ed, at FlyUp417. not a bad start to the day, never ridden there before so was just getting warmed up and seeing what it has to offer. we started to work out the new trail “Flowberone” which is a red graded trail with jumps and some tech features all with some nice flow. The first jump is a small gap jump, leading into a left hand berm. We went down and took it steady for the first few runs and managed to get a few full runs in. Then, on the 4th run, I gave the go pro to Russ as to get one from his POV. Little did I know I was about to get thrown off and break my collarbone and tear my hamstring. I think what happened is that the first 3 runs where I cleared the jump, I peddled into the jump, but this time I pumped it, which meant I pumped a lot harder to compensate, so when I left the takeoff, the compression shot out, shifting my momentum forwards and over the bars and I sadly wasnt quick enough to save myself! Ed and Russ were training behind me and had a bit of a pile up! They were incredibly helpful though and too me to A&E etc etc etc. now onto the recovery and healing process.
