There’s this Schwinn High Sierra frame with some nice components on it for sale on the Swedish national bike marketplace. It’s going for 1000 SEK which is about 100 USD. I’ve read this frame is frantastic for touring and gravel conversion, so im really interested. However, I don’t recognise any of the decals from what I’ve seen online except the main one on the head tube. Does anyone know what’s up with this model? Were there models made with these calliper brakes, or do you think the suntour roller can brakes have been replaced?

Cheers!

  1. The chainstay brakes means this is a mid-80s bike so it’s been upgraded to V-brakes up front. And yes those are aftermarket U-brakes. BUT whoever did the upgrade didn’t upgrade the levers for the front which means the front brakes are gonna be funky. Different pull-ratio. STX is heavy but reliable. But you should definitely talk the price down for the mismatched components and no wheels. Is it your size? Looks like a 20″ frame.
