Just bought this bike (second-hand) and wondered if the height of the rack makes much of a difference, outside of potential future bags?
I plan on adding my old, cheap, plastic saddlebags on both sides, tho that should not have an impact either way, will see when I get home from work.
Does it even make a difference? Sorry if it’s a weird/stupid question, first time I have had an adjustable bike rack 😅

Having the weight lower on your bike is better.
As low as possible.
Having weight lower down will be better for the handling of the bike, but I’m wondering if there’s something else that you want to watch out for: this type of beam rack doesn’t provide for a lower attachment point for your panniers. If the panniers are only attached to the top rail of the rack, they may swing out. How much difference that makes to the handling, you’d have to see. I’d also watch out for having a heavily-loaded RH pannier when you put the bike on the kickstand.
