Biking Along an International Border; Spain/Gibraltar Explanation and Where to Park

Biking along the international border at Spain and Gibraltar is really cool. I think it surprises people to cross the border here and use your identification to do so. Stepping out from Spain to Gibraltar is so completely different, the feeling you get on both sides is so unique to its respective country.

I love Spain. And I love Gibraltar. I have such an amazing time being able to enjoy both places and have such unqiue expereinces in both.

In this video I explain more about the international border at Spain and Gibraltar. I also point out a parking place if you are coming to La Linea to park and walk over to Gibraltar. Please leave any questions in the comments section below.

Hello everybody Welcome to the Spain Gibraltar border I’m currently in La Linea Spain looking over at the Rock of Gibraltar let me take you on a quick bike ride along the border and show you what it looks like at the Spain Gibraltar border from the ground if you

Haven’t already be sure to check out my other videos where I explain the border from up on the Rock of Gibraltar so I would be on top of the Rock of Gibraltar looking down at this point that I’m explaining from now now that building right there behind the

Cars is the airport terminal originally the airport terminal was going to be built with a part of the building on the Spain side if you look closely at the building you can actually see the fence that is the actual international border between Spain and Gibraltar so plans had

Been to extend that part of the airport terminal over into the Spain side to allow passengers access from this site as well but that didn’t happen because of some probably diplomatic relations and issues between Spain and Gibraltar but I don’t get involved in the politics between these two because there are

Sensitivities on both sides regarding the diplomatic relations so I just stay out of that and explain from a neutral perspective all right so as these cars you see here they’re all lined up they just came out of Gibraltar and entered Spain and so they do the turnaround

There and now they are all on to the main Highway which runs along this C and then up to Highway A7 which is the major highway here in the south of Spain so now you’ll see people crossing the crosswalk either going into La Linea or headed back over to Gibraltar

If you look over in the distance you can see the Spanish flag and then further behind that is the Rock of Gibraltar right where the Spanish flag is is the actual border crossing where if you are entering Gibraltar you will need uh your passport or if you’re a European citizen

I think your European ID card works as well now if you’re coming to this place by car there’s a parking lot right there that you can park at I’m not sure of the rates but that is right next to the Border entrance now there are other

Parking lots just around this area so if that one’s full or too expensive there are some other places to park around here keep in mind that street parking anywhere you see a blue line just to the right of me here that is all charged parking so you would have to pay at the

Meter if you’re going into Gibraltar all day I don’t recommend parking on the street unless you park farther away and walk over to the border so here I go continuing on in Spain that is a little bit of the explanation of the international border between Spain and Gibraltar
