    Not possible. Unless you add another layer of clear every couple months. Or don’t drop your bike when you fall.

    Im looking at an S&M dagger frame in raw with clear and S&M advises that oxidization may occur and is completely normal. If you don’t want oxidization to occur then get a painted frame

    Unless you keep the clear PERFECT oxidization will still occur.

  2. Nope, clear lacquer even if prepped in a paint room inevitably can’t stop moisture getting underneath, and any chip or scratch means the steel will oxidise anyway. You can link it though, car wax can act as a barrier but you’ll have to do it regularly, other oil based treatments will also help. End of the day it’s steel and not treated so will rust.
