The Irish Hills Natural Reserve is located right outside of downtown SLO. It offers up about 8-10 miles of rocky, fast rolling single track. The loop is pretty easy to follow especially starting from where I did, linking onto King trail and working counter clockwise. I parked off Madonna road on DeVaul Ranch Dr, it’s pretty easy to locate with plenty of parking options near a small park and the trail head. The Ocean View trails are obviously the crown jewel of the trek but all the trails were fun and challenging. In my opinion an intermediate rider could clean all these trails, the black ratings might be a tad too much (IMO) the loop was 8 miles with around 1,200 feet of climbing, definitely do able. Some of the climbs will test your cardio and technical riding capabilities but I didn’t find anything too extreme here. Not a ton of shade so beware on warm days, drink plenty of water. If you’re interested in riding here do yourself a favor and go check it out! Now get outside and ride your damn bike!

What’s happening guys and I’m back for another one and today I’m riding down in San Luis Obispo and I’m riding the Irish Hills natural Preserve first time ever riding down in San Luis Obispo and just to clear the air um they do have the bike Bell system down here
Um I will not be using the bell in the video um I’ve tried riding with a bell before and you I just can’t record with it so just letting everyone know the Bell will be in my pocket um and on certain sections I’m not filming I’ll throw the Bell on um I
Don’t want to be that guy I will comply just a little bit but it’s um you know it’s a good practice if you’re in an area that recommends it or requires it definitely do that but use your best judgment but I will not be using the
Bell I’ll have it in my pocket so you might hear a little jingle hopefully it’s not too annoying in the video we shall see all right guys I’m gonna be doing a pretty big loop today um I think it’s going to be about nine miles or so with maybe 13 1400 feet of
Climbing we’ll see so nothing too gnarly uh hopefully I don’t fly off the bike get bitten by a rattlesnake attacked by Bigfoot you know any other normal regular stuff we always worry about all right I’m blabbering on too much let’s get it yeah all right this was the first Trail
