You can see on Komoot what the surfaces are. You can also experiment with the profiles, with ‘bicycle’ it will be mostly paved and boring. ‘Gravel bike’ will not give you actual gravel routes, mountain bike works best but you should check the route and make corrections as needed.

These days, I don’t use Komoot for routing anymore, I plan my routes with [bikerouter.de](https://bikerouter.de) and import to Komoot for navigation. I don’t know if there is an English instance of the brouter engine. But their gravel profile produces real gravel routes.
