I just cannot get this tire on with the insert. I’ve been trying for 2 days, tried pinkbike’s strap hack and still nothing. This is the most I can get it to, then the bead just starts running away. The tire and rim are quite a tight fit even without the insert. If anyone has any tips, please let me know. I’m thinking of giving it to a LBS, but I think I’ll overpay, because it’ll take like 2 hours.

Most shops have a price for the work of Tire Install w/ Cushcore. My shop is $30 or 15 minutes’ worth of work.
I’d recommend getting 2 of the bead bros to help hold both sides of the tire in place while you lever away. I used to have awful times putting on tires, and with these little grips, it’s super simple and fast. For what they are, they’re a bit overpriced, but the amount of effort and stress saved makes it well worth it.
Maybe get two tire levers, insert one where you want to keep the bead and use the other one to wrench the tire over the hook. I used this technique before to get very stubborn Continental GP 23mm tires on my vintage bike
If you haven’t tried this. Try pushing your tire bead on each side to the center of the rim. should free up a little more room to work with.
I got bikepark casing on my tire and it was a pain in the ass for the first 2 days to mount them but I just had something to hold the wheel in place and put 2 of the tire levers and basically move the tire levers at the same time to put it on
I think that one of the very important pieces is missing, a round garbage can to rest the wheel on. Makes a world of difference in getting the bead into the center of the rim. If you don’t do that you will not get that tire on no matter what tire lever you use.
